We carried out a landscape and visual assessment for this 35,756 panel solar farm near Kewstoke in Somerset.
Development in a Sensitive Landscape
Greenearth Landscape produced an LVIA for this solar farm on the edge of the village of Kewstoke in Somerset. The site is overlooked by higher ground to the north at Sand Point and to the south at Worlebury Hill with a range of sensitive visual receptors and nearby heritage assets, in particular Woodspring Priory. North Somerset Council were concerned about potential impact on local receptors and an LVIA was required. The assessment considered the baseline situation and likely landscape and visual effects, including the impact on views experienced by users of the footpaths in the area. We also produced a series of photomontages to illustrate the effects of the proposal. The proposal was granted Conditional planning approval in October 2024.
